Hey ROCstars! The past couple weeks have been super busy for me (when am i ever not busy tho :/ ) but finally i found some time to make this post. So lemme not waste time and roc right into it. So as you may or may not know, Collection Moda 2016 was last weekend and guys! can you believe that this is my third year working at The Collection Moda! 3 dope, fun, bad ass years! The event consists of 2 events that spans 3 days: The Collection Moda Runway Show and The Moda Market (which was held for 2 days this year). For the past 3 years i have been at the event helping to make the magic happen. From fitting models, assisting with the show's running order, steaming the collections, being at the designers beck and call to a slew of other things at the Runway show and let me not even mention the work we gotta put in at the Moda Market. No matter the work load and long hours, it is always great working backstage and i prefer it way more than i do sitting in the audience. The fact that i get to be a part of and contribute to such a major event is very fulfilling and satisfying.

Another reason why i love working at Collection MoDA every year is because it coffers creatives an arena to talk, mingle, network and compliment each others' work and outfits, lol, and just flat out have a good ass time. I ran into some of my model, blogger and photographer friends who i haven't seen in a long time and some i met for the first time but we follow each other on social media so it was like we've know each other forever.

Every year i wear the required all black for all the Moda events (black jeans, black shoes and The Collection Moda crew T-shirt) and every year after the runway show, there is a little cocktail party where those who are invited can mingle, network and vogue for the cameras. This year the dress code for workers was no different and as usual there wasn't much time for me do to a complete outfit change. When it was time for me to transform from a work horse into a show pony, i threw on a jacket and sashayed away outside to get into the mix. Along with my skinny faded black jeans and black leather snake skin chuck taylors/converse, I wore a black leather jacket (i freaking love leather jackets!) and replaced my Moda crew t-shirt with an olive plain tee. I also added some little details like the emoji buttons on the jacket, a kerchief tied around my leg, a knitted rasta color belt and of course, stacks of rings. The overall look was very edgy with a bad boy kinda vibe . It reminded me of something Lenny Kravitz or James Dean would have worn in their early days. What y'all think?

I remember when i worked at my first Collection Moda runway show and after it all i posted a photo from the show, and in the caption i said that no matter how many more years i get to do this show it will never feel less exciting or less than a dream. Fast forward 3 years later and the feeling is the same. I love fashion, i love being creative and putting my mind and hands to work. There is nothing that sets my soul on fire the way fashion does and i will always be grateful for opportunities like this. I cannot wait for next year! And oh! i got a little something extra for ya'll for my next blog post so stay tuned ;)

Have a great weekend! #OneLoveAlways <3
