Strong Skin

Hey Rocstars welcome to a brand new month, the month that which is Black History Month and oh they also call it February lol. So, happy Black History Month to all my black bruthas and sistas all across the world :) i wanna share with you guys this AMAZING shoot i did showing a whole lot of skin, well just enough to get my point across. What better way to introduce this shoot to you guys than on the begining of a month that celebrates skin. The black skin that is. This post wont be a history lesson on why the black skin/race is beautiful and amazing, i think we already know that right? good! so instead, i wanna get a little personal with you and give you a look into a different kind of skin, STRONG SKIN. So, lets get roc'ing!
People always and still say to me that "Neko, you are going to be so famous and successful" and when they turn on their TV and see me at the Grammys, Oscars or somehwhere famous people should be (lol) they are going to scream out " i know him!" looool! and thats kool and all and i really do hope all this becomes a reality but my focus has recently changed. Not only am i in this for the success but i have a higher aim and no matter how successful i become, i could be making thousands or millions, i will not care about all that if i can't be myself. i just want to be myslef and be happy being that. My true authenctic self. Luckily, i have been doing that for a very long time now and it's the most theraputic and rewarding feeling i could experience. Sounds so corny and cliche right? but that's how i really feel.

Being yourself aint easy but it's worth it. It takes persons a while to really love themselves and believe that they are enough because the people around them and society keeps telling them to look like someone else and behave like someone else. Girls are being told that they are pretty for a black girl or for a fat girl. Boys are being told and encouraged to participate in violence and to have aggression because that's what makes them "Men". I made so many enemies because of my personality, my "sass" as they would call it and to society, "normal" boys shouldn't even have that. Everytime i was ever slapped with that notion all i wanted to do was disappear. Through it all i still remained my authentic 'sassy" self. Even when everyone were throwing shades and derogatory words i was still ok being the "odd" one and it pissed off a lot of them lol, but i rather let you be bothered than me *activates flip hai emoji* (The Kim K one lol)
Our problem today is that we define our worth and that of others based on looks and the things that we posses. Nowadays you aren't not cool if you're not drinking, smoking or having multiple sex partners. What we dont realize is that we are like rare diamonds! that smile of yours is a killer but your followers will never know because its trendy now to be a "bad bitch" or a "thug" so you post pictures and status' pretending to be a certain way trying to convince the "cool kids" that you are worthy. As those likes grow so does your ego and your self esteem starts to rise and you start focusing on what everyone thinks of you, everyone but yourself.

In conclusion of it all (because i feel like am preaching and rambling on lol) i was that person who just simply wanted to be himself. I didn't care about the hype or the "bashment" and i am not saying my life is or was perfect or i am loved by everyone. I might have had 99 problems but confidence/self love was not one. And if there is someone reading this right now and wishing they could be and do the same, don't worry! it's going to take time because eventually that life of insecurity, self hurt and being fake gets old. Your'e going to always be searching for satisfaction, kinda like searching for a good movie on netflix and i pray and hope you realize soon enough that what you really need to find is yourself. I love the skin i am in. i love who i am and what i have become and i am excited about who i want to be. i hate making this sound so mushy and all but this is really how i feel and i hope that it makes somebody realizes that you win when your comfortable in your skin. That's what having "strong skin" is all about: being secure and inlove with your genuine self regardless of what others think of you. So fuck what people have to say and enjoy who you truly are because you are rare as fuck!
P.s If you consider your authentic self a muderer or thief or any form of criminal then do not take my advice in this post lol. With that said, have a good day y'all!
Til' next time Rocstars!
